Unearthed presents a reimagined portrait of Nefertiti, inspired by one of the few surviving sculptural depictions of the queen. Rendered as a monoprint, the image carries the quiet weight of discovery—fragile yet undeniable, like a relic emerging from centuries underground.
The surface bears the marks of touch and pressure, offering the impression of something excavated. There is a tactile sensitivity to the piece, as if the form of Nefertiti had been gently lifted from the earth rather than drawn from imagination. Her gaze is timeless, echoing across millennia with a kind of watchful knowing.
The title speaks to more than archaeology—it gestures toward the inner excavation we undertake in search of meaning. In this framing, the viewer becomes the researcher: brushing away layers, following intuition, and hoping to uncover something true. Unearthed suggests that what we find may not always be expected, but it is always a reflection—of what we’re willing to see, and what has waited patiently to be found.
